Payments and reports

Set up payments

Start or resume Stripe payment setup, understand verification, and learn when your storefront can accept orders.

Why payment setup is required

Before buyers can place real orders, your payment account has to be ready. VibeKitchen runs payments on Stripe: you set up a Stripe payment account, and from then on you are the merchant of record for your own sales.

Because you are the merchant of record, your shop name — not VibeKitchen — appears on your customer's card statement. That is deliberate: a buyer who found you on Instagram sees your kitchen's name, which keeps people from reporting a charge they do not recognize.

Payment setup collects the details Stripe needs to verify you and turn on card payments. Stripe reviews what you provide and may ask for more before your account goes active. You can check your payment status any time from Settings.

After Stripe approves your account, VibeKitchen finishes its tax setup automatically. If you see Finishing your payment account's tax setup, choose Check payment status and try again in a moment. Contact support@vibekitchen.net if it persists. This step does not register you for any tax.

Save your storefront URL first

Stripe needs a public business URL it can fetch before it finishes verification. Save a valid storefront URL during onboarding; that URL returns a closed business page for Stripe, but it does not publish your menu or let buyers check out.

You can create products and listings and use private Preview Mode before payments are approved. The order is: save your URL → build and preview your menu → connect payments → wait for approval → explicitly open your storefront. Payment approval does not open the storefront automatically.

You do not need a bank account to accept your first order. Linking a bank only controls payouts — it does not gate accepting cards — so you can add it after your first sale.

Payment setup states

Leaving setup partway through usually does not mean starting over. Reopen Payment Account from onboarding, Profile, or Settings, continue where you left off, and check your status again.

  • Not connected: you have not started payment setup yet.
  • Incomplete: some required details are still missing — finish them to continue.
  • Pending review: Stripe is verifying the details you provided. This can take a little time, and you do not need to do anything while it runs.
  • Needs information: Stripe needs something more before it can finish — reopen setup and provide it.
  • Finishing your payment account's tax setup: your payment account is approved and VibeKitchen is finishing the settings needed for checkout. Choose Check payment status.
  • Active: your payment account and tax settings are ready. Checkout can accept orders after you explicitly open the storefront.
  • Declined: email support@vibekitchen.net before restarting.

Start or resume setup

Use the same path whether you are starting payment setup for the first time or returning after a browser closes.

In the mobile app, payment setup and account tools open in a secure browser window. Use Return to VibeKitchen when it is shown, or close the browser with Done or Back. VibeKitchen then checks your status from the server; the browser closing by itself does not mean setup is complete.

  1. 1Open onboarding, Profile, or Settings.
  2. 2Find Payment Account.
  3. 3Choose the setup or continue action shown there.
  4. 4Complete the secure Stripe prompts in the browser window.
  5. 5Choose Return to VibeKitchen (or close the browser), then check your in-app payment status and refresh if it has not updated yet.
